About Teacher Cadets

  • This blog was created for a student in a high school who is participating in the Teacher Cadet Program.

The primary goal of the Teacher Cadet Program is to encourage students to consider teaching as a career. A secondary goal is to provide these students insights about teachers and schools so that they will be civic advocates of education.

This blog was created for the student to share learning, insights, questions, and experiences they gain as they participate in the program. Links to other classroom participants are included.

The class blog is located at: Teacher Cadets

Does loud noise bother

Loud noise does bother me because you cant learn with a lot of loud noise. The teacher would be tryin to teach and there would be too much noise and no one would be able to focus.

My Favorite Teacher

The best teacher that I ever had was a woman named Monica Little, she teaches at Lithonia High School. The reason I say that she was my favorite teacher is because her class was always so fun, don't get me wrong we stayed busy with work and her class was just like any other class but it was the way she taught it.  Mrs. Little was always real with our class,  she never sugar coated anything and that's what I loved about her. In her class sometimes we didn't even work in class she just sat down and talked to us about life and how it is in the real world. I feel like she really prepared me for life after high school. One time when she was talking to our class she broke down and started crying, she really cared about us she was just like a second mother. She started crying because she said that we weren't taking our education seriously and that she was scared that we wouldn't be prepared for the real world . That's why I loved Mrs. Little even though she taught me in my freshman year it still feels like I was in her class just yesterday.

Childrens Behavior

Lani, I do think part of the problem is the way teachers interact with the students because if the teacher comes into the classroom with an attitude and lets their attitude out on all of their students then the students will probably give attitude back. I do not agree with the way students react in that situation because the teacher that they are talking to is an adult and they should show more respect, but i can also see where the student could be coming from because in some peoples minds they strongly believe the statement you have to show respect to get respect. That statement is very true but the way you handle the situation is what counts.

Poor pupil behavior

I thought the article was very true and it hit right on the spot. There are alot of disrespectful kids in school today and their parents are just as disrespectful as they are. The parent should be a good role model for their child but sad to say a lot of parents are not good role models for their children and it shows when they come to school and act like they have no home training, that is a reason why a lot fo teachers change the shool they are at or even their career. Some teachers just are not ready for the abuse children can give them and sadly to say the problem will probably just get worse. We all hope that the problem will lessen or stop but it probably wont that;s just another obstacle in life youPoor pupil behavior have to get over.  poor pupil behavior

My Introduction

Hi, my name is Fred and Iam a junior in high school. Right now i am in an intro to teaching class and basically we are learning how to teach kids of different age groups.I am the only male in the class, and i am in here because i am thinking about pursuing a career in coaching. Next semester in this class we are going to go down to an elementary school to interact with different children. If i had a choice in grade level i would choose older children. i really can't wait because i think it would be alot of fun.
