Hello it’s me again, Tim. Did
you all miss me, it’s been a week since my last posting. For this posting I’m
going to talk about what is wrong with our system of education. In our system
of education it’s pretty much that if you don’t have a high school diploma or
some type of degree then you’re really out of luck. What I mean by out of luck
is that without one of those 2 very important things (high school
diploma/degree) then the way you live is pretty much sealed. What I’m saying is
without one or sometimes both of things all the jobs you’d be getting are going
to be low-paying, degrading, and mediocre. You’ll pretty much be living a life
that you and your family don’t want to live. You’ll be working more than one
job just to get by. On the other hand let’s say you’ve got a college degree,
with that degree you’ll most definitely going to be better off than someone
else without a degree. That person with the degree will have a better home,
better income, and might be having a better over all life. All this has
everything to do with the business and the government and how messed up this
stuff sounds BUT THIS IS ALL TRUE.
Hi Tim,
I agree that almost everything you said is true! I agree that a high school diploma or a college degree may mean you and your family will have a better life. But it got me to wondering if I misunderstood, when you said that was a bad thing? If someone works hard to earn a diploma or degree, and puts many hours into learning a subject, shouldn't they be rewarded by being able to work in a better job and have a better life?
From my point of view, what's wrong with our system of education is schools that don't help students learn the skills they will need to earn diplomas and degrees. Schools should be helping students so that no one fails to graduate if they work hard. What do you think?
Best,
Lani

Hi Tim,
I am finding it is not always easy to use the right words when I write (do you ever have that problem?) so I am going to try to use different words for paragraph two that really mean what I feel.
From my point of view, what's wrong with our system of education is that some schools don't help students learn the skills they will need to get good jobs. Schools should be helping students prepare for work in this world that is changing so much. What do you think?
I think this is a better way of saying what I mean. Does it make sense to you?
Best,
Lani

Hey Lani this is Tim and the problem with our schools is not many people are going to school to learn plus most teachers don't even care about teaching they just hand you the book and say do this many pages a day.
