Hay everyone. It has been a while since I have been on this thing, but there has been alot going on!!! Over Christmas break I was supposed to move to South Carolina, but I didn't wind up moving after all.
Since I've been back I started "teaching" at an elementary school next door to my school. I am working with 3rd and 4th grade students. I am there between 8 and 9:10 in the mornings Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I help out with a program they do called S.F.A. It is a reading group type program that places the students in a class based on their reading level. It has been a great experience so far. I have all ready developed relationships with students. It is very funny because to them I am so old. I was asked one day if I was married and how long I had been teaching. It is a great feeling to know that I get to help these kids. I remember having people come into my class in elementary school and being so amazed. I guess now I have moved up the "totem poll"...and I must say that is very very cool!!!
Other than the teaching with the students I have a great teacher that I get to work with. She is very young so she has great advise. I get to see first hand what I will be going through in my first couple of years teaching. She is very nice and AWESOME to work with!!
Well, that pretty much sums up my past month. I hope to get some comments 'cuz yall know..I love 'um!!!!!
much love

Caitlin:
It sounds like you are having a lot of fun with your teaching experience so far! It helps having a good teacher to work with as well. I know the students look up to you -- they can't imagine being in high school like you one day!
Do you think this experience will help you become a better teacher one day?
